The LaunchTo celebrate the successes of young people in Blackpool, and to launch some brand new resources, Blackpool Council in partnership with a group of young people are holding an event dubbed The Launch.
The Launch will do exactly that - launch new initiatives and funding streams, as well as celebrate Blackpool's young people’s successes over the past year. The Council will also be launching resources that are available for workers to help to continue to improve the lives of children and young people across the town.
The event, which is being held at the Imperial Hotel on Friday 30 April, will be split into morning and afternoon sessions, each focusing on a certain aspect of work with children and young people in Blackpool and will present the chance to try out our new materials, learn new skills and find out more about the work being undertaken with children and young people.
In the evening there will be a huge celebration event for young people, highlighting the successes and hard work of the younger generation.
The Launch is open to all practitioners working with and for children and young people in Blackpool, from statutory, voluntary and private sectors. The afternoon session will be a chance for children and young people to test drive new work and resources and tell us what they think.
The day will finish with an invite only, fancy dress ball where the Council will be awarding some of Blackpool's children and young people with certificates for their involvement and participation in the community.
The information being launched will include:
Childrens Charter
Looked After Children Pledge
A Possible last chance for Youth Opportunity Funding and
BYPC Health Fund Funding
A comprehensive guide to involving young people
Gay to Z guide for young people
